David Harmer

David was born in 1952 and is best known as a children’s writer with poems and stories appearing in many books mainly published by Macmillans Children’s Books. His latest collection There’s A Monster In The Garden is from Frances Lincoln. David still regularly works in schools encouraging children and their grown-ups to write poems and laugh as much as they can. He also has a number of collections for adults. David was a founder member of the poetry performance group Circus of Poets and later worked with Paul Cookson in the highly rated poetry duo Spill The Beans. Recently he has discovered he is 64 and now gets together with Ray Globe to write and perform as The Glummer Twins. He and his wife Paula live in Doncaster because it’s their turn.

Ray Globe

Ray was born in Yorkshire in 1954. He began performing in the late 60’s with South Yorkshire Theatre for Youth where he shared a stage with the young David Harmer. In the 1980's he worked with Circus of Poets, writing music for the performance poetry group and appearing with them on stage and television. Ray still works with a number of theatre companies in Sheffield both as a performer and director. He also writes and performs poetry with David Harmer in The Glummer Twins.
